For the Public

Learn by Watching
The Willamette Valley Woodturners meets the second Thursday of each month at the Salem Center 50+ in Salem Oregon. Attend a meeting, hang out with our members, and watch top-notch demonstrators at work. Feel free to visit us before you join!

Learn by Doing
As a member, you can connect with one of our Club’s mentors who will guide you through each step in your journey. In addition, members are welcome to attend monthly Sawdust Sessions where you can work with seasoned turners, ask questions, perfect techniques, or try out new tools.

Learn from the Best
Several times each year the Club offers classes taught by nationally and internationally-known wood turners. There are additional fees for these classes, and enrollment is generally limited to 6-8 students depending on instructor preference. Classes of this quality are invaluable to a woodturner’s skill-building journey.

Donate a Tree
The Club periodically accepts donations of logs suitable for woodturning projects. Not every tree fits this description, and we’re neither arborists nor a tree service. If you ‘d like to learn more about this opportunity to stop a tree from becoming firewood, click here. Donors can work with one of our turners to obtain a bowl or other turned object from the wood donated to the club as a thank you for your generosity.
